Lines of Memory
Suzanne Leamy’s practice demonstrates a blend of personal narrative and visual expression. She focuses on her father’s life and career with Irish Rail using a mix of materials such as ledgers and carbon paper. Drawing inspiration from artists such as David Hockney and Sophie Calle, Suzanne’s work captures moments of authenticity and introspection.
Her process involves retracing her father’s life journeys, using photography as a foundation for her visual storytelling. In her studio, Suzanne combines delicate lines and careful placement to craft compositions that merge memory, emotion, and the passage of time. Through her art, Leamy explores the complexities of life and while aiming to capture the essence of her father’s story she has begun to build toward a larger narrative where the viewer is invited to contemplate the many layers of human experience.
