First Year Studies
First Year in NCAD is a period of exploration and experimentation, trying out and pushing the boundaries of what you already know, testing new ideas and processes, and working with new and diverse groups of people in a common entry programme.
The programme is designed to help our students to transition into third level, to establish peer connections and to become a part of the NCAD wider community. Academically, it is a time for our students to establish their chosen path for degree study and to test choices already made.
We have really enjoyed working with our first year students this year, they are a strong group who have worked with full engagement and energy throughout their year from start to finish. The outcomes they produced reflected this and we know that the specialist departments are looking forward to their joining them in their second year in September.
Here is a selection of images from our end of year presentation. They represent work produced in the final module of the year in each of the specialist pathways available in our undergraduate programmes here in NCAD. We hope you enjoy them and get a sense of the breadth and the richness of what is on offer at NCAD.
