The Playroom
Steph Saidha is an artist based between Limerick and Dublin, who is dedicated to explorations of play, space, childhood and tradition. Through process-led engagements and critical dialogue with communities, her practice is committed to creating ways of coming together that encourage a sense of empowerment and connection. Her work utilises interdisciplinary methods of engagement taken from socially engaged art, hospitality and critical pedagogies. While this work can take many forms, if often tends towards photography, drawing and text-based installations.
Her current MA project is a collaboration with two After School Programmes based in Dublin 8, one at Robert Emmet CDP and the other at Warrenmount Primary School, which is run by the South Inner City Community Development Association. Together with these groups, they are exploring the role and value of play in the lives of both young people and adults, as well as examining the relationship between play and space.
