Nest
Historically, designers have ignored the needs of the neurodivergent. Whilst there are design projects and products that have been created specifically for this community, when it comes to the way that we have structured our society and its systems, the neurodivergent have not been given the attention they deserve.
Through my research, I recognised the growing market of those working from home especially in a post Covid-19 pandemic world. With this new way of working, the design of ‘Nest’ is intended to be an “at home work pod” that not only saves on space and money but is also built from an empathetic perspective in order to meet the specific needs of the neurodivergent.
From the genesis of Nest, I worked in collaboration with various members of the neurodivergent community to create an aesthetic and calming environment that meets the requirements and needs of a variety of conditions such as ADHD and autism.
