We Weep
This body of work is focused on women, and the areas where gender bias is evident. The work demonstrates the physical and psychological trauma experienced by female victims as a result of this gender bias. Overall the work references both historical and contemporary issues that have affected women in general.
In the drawings and sculpture pieces, a sense of vulnerability and fragility is projected by the materials used alongside the juxtaposition of their durability and resilience. The materials used in conjunction with the exposed plaster and concealed areas, suggest a different perspective to the pieces.
