Hidden Art
My work explores the colourful, underground culture of graffiti art in Dublin. My collection consists of wearable references to graffiti culture, inspired by the raw energy and secretive beauty of street art. The main components of my collection are frames handcrafted from copper and silver tubing, which represent the industrial scaffolding, gates, and railings that often obscure Dublin's graffiti.
I've incorporated colourful enamel plates set into these frames to mimic the intuitive motion of spray paint cans used in graffiti. I've also added texture to the pieces to replicate the uneven brick wall surfaces, further establishing the urban feel.
Through my work, I aim to blur the line between conventional jewellery and urban art, inviting wearers to carry with them a piece of Dublin’s hidden creativity. Each piece serves as a reminder of the beauty found in the unexpected and the transformative power of artistic expression.
