Mój Język
As part of my final project, I wanted to share my experience of immigration at a very young age. Focusing specifically on the loss of your native language, the work demonstrates how it can put a strain on your relationships with family. I have always understood the importance of communication, yet failed to hold tightly to my means of communicating with my Polish family members. In particular, those who hear spoken English and return a blank look. My grandmother is one of these people; this is a dedication, and apology, to her.
My practice is based on the creation of images, through which stories can be told. At the moment, I mainly work digitally, however my fondness for traditional art has never faded. I absolutely love drawing faces, capturing people’s expressions, emotions and features, along with the reward of creating pieces for my friends and family.
