My practice combines illustration and graphic design to create a variety of media from posters to interactive experiences. Inspiration is found in surreal and horror media, and I regularly mix these visuals with the designs and aesthetics of mundane anachronistic media such as dated styles of forms, documents, posters, advertisements and other cold bureaucratic publications. Capturing an atmosphere where something is slightly off is of interest to me. Mixing these conflicting styles of work, along with something boring and familiar being pushed into the unfamiliar by an ageing style, helps capture this intended feeling.
My project is an interactive experience styled after point-and-click adventure games. It forms a combination of physical documents and a faux ageing games console. Integrated into one experience, it attempts to enhance the immersion by bringing the world out of the game and requiring a more thorough understanding and engagement to progress.
