Edgelands
'Edgelands' explores the convergence of the tangible and intangible.
My practice is an exploration of Ireland’s edgelands, our transitional terrains where urban meets rural yet cannot be distinguished between. In the embrace of time and nature, these abandoned landscapes hold an ethereal essence, both hallowed and hollowed in one.
Through the lens of manipulated photography and the resonance of sound, I’ve attuned myself to the potential thresholds within these liminal terrains.
Their inherent otherworldly quality resonates with the essence of Celtic “thin places”- locales where the veil has fallen between our world and the next. The quiet desolation of these edgelands is reminiscent of the silence that pervades the thin places, weaving a parallel narrative between the ancient and the contemporary.
