Chrysalis
‘Chrysalis’ is a collection of delicate sculptural woven and knit fabrics aimed at visionary fashion designers who are inspired by new-generation fabrics and processes to create avante-garde couture and high-end ready-to-wear collections.
Nature and technology blend seamlessly in this collection, which mimics natural sources. The qualities and behaviours of synthetic yarns are exploited through the use of traditional knit and weave techniques to achieve a modern contemporary aesthetic.
Inspired by the metamorphosis of the butterfly, and reflecting the changing surfaces and structures throughout the life cycle—from the larva and chrysalis to the wings—the collection explores translucency, light refraction, shifting colour, and the delicate textural and sculptural qualities of insects. The aim was to design textiles for production that appear delicate and exquisite while also offering the potential for cutting-edge fashion that is sculptural, durable, and timeless.
