Up the Walls and on the Ground
This collection is an inventive, colourful response to overcoming my fears, ritualistically reinventing my daily journey. Growing up in a motor biking community, I was enamoured by the protective leathers, the padding and the cording. Initially shrouded in fear, I chose to find comfort in the once overlooked things I found.
The collection draws from fragmented parts of other journeys taken on this path. I became fascinated with everyday objects and rubbish found on the streets, relishing the imagined memories and stories held within these discarded belongings. Noticing, photographing, and collecting these items not only kept me moving but also became the heart of my healing and creative process.
The disjointed connection between these found articles is echoed in the contrasting materials and techniques used in this collection, which combines luxury cotton organdy with plastic sheeting, embroidery and chaotic prints.
Clothing embellished with fun and adored by the discarded, this collection serves to protect you through dopamine dressing.
