Natural Reality
This collection of silk fashion textile prints, overlooks the ideas of trends and designs for longevity. The work therefore embodies the idea of sustainability.
Through an exploration of the textural and structural qualities of natural formations, the inspiration for this collection was formed. Displaying the beautiful qualities of these formations in new contemporary ways. Through a combination of various elements such as distortion and a manipulation of the natural world, a new reality is formed. Using a range of design approaches together with the natural elements, the tension between the real and the textile is highlighted.
The collection utilises a variety of silks with both digital and hand printed designs that are intended for fashion textiles such as scarves and dresses.
