Redesigned Onboarding for Better Employee Experience
'Redesigned Onboarding for Better Employee Experience' examines how we can redesign the onboarding process for new employees using service design and co-creation, to help avoid costly and preventable mistakes that result in disengaged employees. A series of interviews were conducted with a number of different stakeholders, all of whom have different roles within the onboarding process- from the interviewee and the internal recruiter to the learning and development manager and the onboarding specialist.
By mapping the "as is" state and interrogating it through a co-creation workshop, we explored common problems and ideated solutions. There was a standout insight, namely the common lack of a central onboarding wiki, with dynamically updated links to the right information and training programs needed. Automated and staged information is sent to the new joiner from the wiki, so they are not overwhelmed, but all the content is available to allow for asynchronous learning as well.
