Care Labour and Activismo
As a socially engaged visual artist with a BA in Fine Art Media, I am currently undertaking the full-time MA in Art and Social Action at NCAD. My artistic journey is intertwined with my research interests, encompassing a broad spectrum of themes such as diversity, inclusion, language, identity, intersectionality, migration, and gender. Through my work, I strive to interrogate power dynamics and explore the sociocultural dimensions of belonging. Working across various mediums, including performance, writing, videos, digital media, and mixed media, I am passionate about experimenting with individual and collective methods of socially engaged artistic practice and activism.
In my recent project, I am collaborating with the local community in Dublin 8, focusing on empowering women from diverse backgrounds through an interdependent and collaborative exchange of skills and knowledge. The project aims to promote solidarity and collaboration across intersectionalities and address care labour invisibility.
