Faded Memories
‘Faded Memories’ explores the complexities of forming identity, the impact of diaspora in childhood, and nostalgia for individualism. An uncompromising unravelling of personal histories entwined into the ever-present making of self, unveiling common differences in peoples’ autonomy. It delves into the viable recollection of memories, outlining the distortion of overlapping feelings at pivotal moments in time and their visceral tale for reflection.
The installation comprises a maze that overtly betrays your field of vision, epitomising a sense of fragility in reforming memories. Inside the maze you are immersed into nostalgia with photographs of childhood, inviting you to ponder on your own experiences of childhood and its constellation of individualism.
