The Unseen
I first started working with clay and chalks as therapeutic tools in art therapy practice. These mediums continue to help me process my feelings and emotions, allowing me to communicate past experiences.
While my work often evokes personal memories and experiences, it also elicits a myriad of questions and emotions about humanity and the society we live in. I aim for my work to serve as a conduit for dialogue on issues such as mental illness, aging, and the plight of those on the margins of society who are unseen and voiceless in today's world. It challenges societal views on mental illness, especially in old age.
I invite viewers to question both what is revealed and what is concealed in the sculptural forms and the drawings presented.
