MA Art and Social Action (Part Time)
Caoimhe Cronin is a part-time student on the MA Art and Social Action. Her academic background includes a BA (Hons) in Fine Art with a focus on Textiles and Applied Materials, a Professional Diploma in Graphic Design, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business with an emphasis on Cultural Event Management. She was Vice-President and then President of the NCAD Student Union in recent years, and is now Student Engagement Officer at AHEAD Ireland. These positions have provided Caoimhe with a platform to advocate for student rights, inclusivity, and accessibility within the educational and cultural sectors. The skills and insights gained from these leadership roles inform her artistic practice, guiding her to create works that are not only reflective of personal experiences but also resonate with broader societal issues.
Caoimhe is interested in further exploring the transformative power of art in fostering social change, using artistic methods as a tool for social commentary, to spark dialogue and inspire action. Through large-scale installations, community workshops and interactive artworks, her goal is to engage audiences in meaningful conversations and foster a sense of solidarity through her practice.
