Queer Collection Archive
My practice currently focuses on highlighting the personal stories and societal contributions of queer individuals in Ireland, through the theme of collecting. A person’s collection of objects often serves as a visual expression of their history, integrity, and individuality, particularly for those who identify as LGBTQ+.
My most recent work aims to provide an anonymous platform for individuals to express all facets of being queer in Ireland today and allows them to celebrate their unique collections in a visually engaging way. Additionally, my work offers an opportunity to highlight the contributions of queer individuals regarding LGBTQ+ visibility and societal acceptance in Ireland through collectible postal stamp designs.
Finally, in a more personal piece of work, I describe the revelations I experienced in figuring out my identity as a lesbian by writing a letter to my younger self, accompanied by narrative illustrations.
