Signs of the Sea - Comhathaí na Farraige
The scallop shell was the starting point for the collection, an obtrusive shape created by the unobtrusive action of the sea. The scallop shell, with its rich history rooted in pilgrimage and religion, spans from St. James’s Gate to NCAD on Thomas Street. As the sea changes place and space over time, culture has similarly transformed the idea of marriage.
This ever-changing sea has been portrayed through painting, dyeing, knitting, and draping of natural forms and movements. This final collection flows from dress to dress, achieved by transparent flowing fabrics such as organza, silk, and knitted/made fabric, creating a modern, opulent, and simply elegant bridal collection. This wedding dress collection reflects a modern, unique bride.
