Live Performance of the Malva Ukrainian Choir, Ireland.
Experience the Malva Ukrainian Choir at the NCAD WORKS Graduate Show opening on Friday, 7th June at 6PM for 30 minutes. The Malva Ukrainian Choir is part of the Ukrainian Laois Support Association (ULSA), invited by Master of Fine Art graduate Justyna Doherty. The meaning of word Malva translates in English to the 'mallow flower'. The mallow flower is one of the symbols of love to the Ukrainian motherland - people and home. It is a symbol of wisdom, faith, hope and love. Folk stories tell of souls of ancestors that settle on the mallow flower to protect the residents of the house. Describing the ancestors' belief that if you take flowers with you on a trip, the traveler will definitely return to the motherland.
